The Government of Japan has provided a total sum of US$ 636,262 (approximately Rs.115 million) to the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) for humanitarian demining activities in Northern Sri Lanka, the Japanese Embassy in Sri Lanka stated in a press release. The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has launched an investigation into the forged registration of 700 vehicles through the computer system of the Department of Motor Traffic, State Minister of Transport Dilum Amunugama revealed yesterday.
