The Brit Awards will take place at the O2 arena in London (George Rees Williams/PA) The Brit Awards will return to London s O2 Arena in Greenwich tonight, the first live music show at the venue in more than a year, with over 2,500 tickets gifted to people working on the front line of the pandemic. There will be an audience of 4,000 people at this year s event, hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall, as part of the Government s live events pilot scheme, with 2,500 tickets gifted to key workers from the Greater London area. Audience members attending the indoor ceremony will not be socially distanced or required to wear face coverings once seated for the first time in over a year.

This year s Rising Star award winner Griff was handed the baton for the honour by 2020 s Rising Star winner Celeste, who herself was up for three further awards.
And Arlo Parks was crowned Breakthrough Artist, one of the three awards the star was nominated for, after what has been an incredible year for the young London artist.

Dua Lipa, J Hus, and Arlo Parks triumphed at the 2021 Brit Awards, which took place at the O2, in a show that felt like the glorious beginning of a return to normality. The 25-year-old pop sensation Dua Lipa took home British Female Solo Artist for the second time, plus Mastercard Album of the Year; rapper J Hus won British Male Solo Artist; while 20-year-old Arlo Parks nabbed Breakthrough Artist. Girl band Little Mix (who lost a member and gained two pregnancies in the past few months) won British Group, and Harry Styles’ Watermelon Sugar was awarded British Single.
