Tomsk State University has strengthened its position in all the RUR ranking criteria and took 103rd place among the world’s universities. In the overall ranking of Russian universities, TSU takes 3rd place, after MSU (91st place) and MEPhI (101st place), and in the Teaching ranking, takes 49th in the world.
The overall ranking score is made up of assessments of four complex indicators.
Among the strongest universities in the world, TSU ranks 49th in Teaching ranking, one of the most significant criteria for the overall ranking. For 6 years, the university has been improving its positions in the highest (Diamond) league this indicator. The International Diversity ranking is also growing: here the university has risen from 126th position to 109th.

Delivering more jobs and a stronger budget
One year ago our nation was in lockdown.
We were staring into the economic abyss.
1.3 million Australians had been stood down or had lost their jobs.
At the time, Treasury feared the unemployment rate could reach 15 per cent with over two million out of work.
However, we were entering this crisis from a position of economic strength.
The unemployment rate was 5.1 per cent.
Workforce participation was close to a record high.
Welfare dependency at a 30 year low.
We had returned the Budget to balance for the first time in 11 years.

Housing presents universal challenges as well as contextual ones related to migration and urbanisation patterns, affordability and financing, culture and social norms, climate, construction modes and adaptability. The ingredients of resilient communities and environments around the Indo-Pacific region can be studied from multiple angles to find pathways to housing that achieves much more than real-estate-driven concerns. Housing that sensitively and successfully fuses top-down and bottom-up concerns is possible in many contexts. This session will dissect some of the region’s leading examples.
