Dr Duncan Webb, chairperson of the committee said: “This inquiry will give us a good opportunity to further our understanding of this increasingly important topic.”

Changes to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1989 will occur across two pieces of legislation. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand Bill follows the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (Monetary Policy) Amendment Act 2018. Both pieces of legislation have come out of the Government’s review into the 1989 Act.

Changes to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act
1989 will occur across two pieces of legislation. The
Reserve Bank of New Zealand Bill follows the Reserve Bank of
New Zealand (Monetary Policy) Amendment Act 2018. Both
pieces of legislation have come out of the Government’s
review into the 1989 Act.
