The 38-year-old, who has no permanent address, was driving a Toyota Sienna and failed to yield, colliding with a Mazda 626, the Baxter Police Department reported. The man then left the scene without providing any information. The driver of the Mazda, Darick V. Bartel, 27, Staples, was not injured, but his 29-year-old passenger, Heather L. Bartel of Brainerd was transported by North Memorial Health Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.

Hanson suffered a likely wrist fracture and was transported by North Memorial Health Air Care to an unknown facility. Ulland suffered a likely ankle fracture, and was transported by North Memorial Health Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.

Phillips, 25, Bemidji, failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and struck a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Gretchen M. Ness, 45, Brainerd.
