Calling it a day of eagerness and joy, Dr. David Basel of Avera Medical Group said Monday that the first batch of COVID-19 vaccinations were began taking place that afternoon at Avera McKennan hospital. Basel said he was so excited for the arrival of the Pfizer vaccine that he d get an injection in his eyeball if that was required. Fortunately, it isn t.
