The mass vaccination site is run by Fair Haven Community Health Care and sixteen schools are holding clinics. Those locations have a school-based health centers, making it easy for nurses to vaccinate school staff.
“Rather than clogging up this site and the other site, we’ll make sure teachers can also go right there on their school site,” said school superintendent Ilene Tracey.
The Wilbur Cross location will run Tuesday through Friday for teachers and the general public.

WALC Book Fair Finds New Home at MPEC This Weekend
The Wichita Falls Adult Literacy Council is saying this book fair will have double the books and triple the space of their previous events.
The 21st annual WALC Book Fair is this Thursday through Saturday and it s in a brand new location. For several years the book fairs have been held at the Sikes Lake Center building at Midwestern State University. The room was filled with rows of tables filled with books and just enough space for readers to wander through and find their treasures. This year the Book Fair will be held in the Ray Clymer Exhibit Hall at the MPEC. That means the WALC will have a lot more space to work with so shoppers can spread out and maintain some social distancing as they browse.
NEW BEDFORD As people start getting excited about life after COVID-19, such as returning to work and spending time away from the house, dog owners might anticipate their dogs having a different reaction.
“They’re not going to cope well when the owner goes back full time,” said Lauren Stamatis, co-owner of Harmonious Hounds in New Bedford. “You definitely want to ease them into it and start preparing them with gradual departures now.”
Separation anxiety among dogs, post-pandemic, is a growing concern within the pet community. Since the pandemic, Stamatis said her business saw a 50 to 60% drop with service needs and led to her staff being cut in half. Now, in the last month, she’s seen a resurgence in dog-waking needs. “We’re on the verge of separation anxiety cases, too,” she added.
