From smart refrigerators that minimize odors to voice recorders capable of generating text simultaneously, nearly 1,000 high-tech gadgets sold via 100 livestream broadcast sessions brought a sci-tech fair, which concluded on Tuesday, closer to consumers in Anhui province.
One of the most popular sessions was hosted by e-commerce phenom livestreamer Viya, whose real name is Huang Wei, on Sunday evening exclusively for high-tech products manufactured by Anhui-based companies.
Hartford softball christens lights, falls to Otters

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION In the first night game under the newly installed lights at Maxfield Sports Complex, the Hartford High softball team came up short against Otter Valley on Tuesday, 14-9.
Otter Valley (1-2) opened a comfortable lead with a five-run second inning and led 10-3 after the top half of the fourth inning. But the Otters had to stave off resilient Hartford (0-2) the rest of the game, starting with a four-run fourth.
Otter Valley led, 11-9, entering the final frame, and the Otters scored three in the seventh inning to provide breathing room to close out the victory. Two of those runs scored via a double by senior Josie Cone.

WOODSTOCK Woodstock High starting pitcher Tom Bissaillon would not be denied in 6⅔ dominant innings to help the Wasps beat visiting Springfield, 9-0, in a Southern Vermont League baseball game on Tuesday afternoon.
Bissaillon struck out 15 against four walks and three hits surrendered. The senior wasn’t done there, going 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs for the Wasps (2-1).
Memphis Begin walked three times and came around to score a run each time. Jackson Martin added two hits, scored twice and drove in one. Chase Christiansen was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
A SUMMER craft fair is taking place at Bonhoga again this year, showcasing four groups of makers over the space of 18 weeks.
The fair, which is a collaboration between Shetland Arts and Crafts Association and Shetland Arts, is taking place between 7 May and 5 September.
The first group of makers includes Austin Taylor Photography, Lisa’s Leatherworks, Linda Richardson, Peerie Oorick and Uphouse Crafts.

The organisers said Austin Taylor Photography “captures Shetland’s emotion, drama and colour in photographs of its Northern Lights, landscape, wildlife and people”.
Lisa’s Leatherworks creates bespoke, hand crafted leather goods including belts, wallets, purses, journals, gifts, knitting backs and pet/equestrian items.
