Floating house in Massachusetts listed for $275,000

A home for sale in Massachusetts is gaining attention online because of its unusual location: It s on a boat, but it s not a houseboat.
ADVERTISEMENT The home, listed online for $275,000, formerly was known as the Governor Herrick, a dredge for the Cape Cod Canal in the early 1900s.
The vessel, now named Tapestry, was converted in the mid-1990s by a man who built a home on top of the boat.
The 1,800-square-foot house, which has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, is parked at the Fairhaven Shipyard, but the location is not permanent.

The Vermont Supreme Court on Friday upheld the legality of a 2018 state law that restricts the size of large-capacity ammunition magazines for firearms.
The law, passed by the Legislature and signed by Gov. Phil Scott in response to what police described as a near-miss school shooting in Fair Haven, is a “reasonable regulation of the right of the people to bear arms for self-defense,” the court said in its decision.

Monmouth County added another 1,649 COVID-19 cases and an additional 26 deaths from the novel coronavirus over the last week, both declines from the previous seven days.
New variants of the virus are a continuing source of concern even as more than 1.1 million people in New Jersey have now received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Gov. Phil Murphy conceded this week that the state would be moving more aggressively to reopen its economy were it not for concerns that more transmissible strains of the virus would begin to circulate more widely in the coming weeks.
