But that between Edward Maund and his wife Eleonora has gone down in history as a fascinating symbol of the power of early day feminism.  At the beginning of the last century, after 36-year-old Eleonora defied Edward’s will and embarrassed his status as the head of the household, her husband made his anger very public.
