My Brother s Keeper, commonly referred to as MBK, is an initiative started by former President Barack Obama in 2014 following the death of Trayvon Martin that seeks to close opportunity gaps for all students, but particularly young men and boys of color, to help them reach their full potential in school and in life. It aims to provide a network of mentors and role models for students and build leadership skills.
