Colin Bolek introduces a resolution to add student representatives to the city s boards, committees and commissions
A Newberg High School student is leading the way for youths who want to serve their town and have an impact on local government.
Colin Bolek served on the Newberg Planning Commission as a sophomore at NHS and continued for two years.
Now, in an effort to encourage other youths to participate in local government, Bolek teamed with City Recorder Sue Ryan to bring a resolution before the Newberg City Council in mid-March that would add student representatives to all of the city s boards, committees and commissions.
