(ABC 6 News) - The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says the Rushford police officer who fired his weapon during an incident last Saturday has been placed on standard administrative leave.
Rushford police officer Darin Daveau discharged his weapon twice during the incident. Daveau has been in law enforcement for eight years.
Ibraheem Farah Hamza Khalifa, 35, of Rushford, was taken into custody at the scene. He is being held at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center and faces felony charges related to violations of a restraining order.
BCA crime scene personnel recovered a rifle at the scene. Neither the officer nor the subject were struck by gunfire.
