Former administrators from the Environmental Protection Agency are encouraging Congress to help EPA rebuild its cadre of scientific talent. They said they’ve observed dwindling employee morale in recent years and said political appointees have often sidelined the expertise of career employees. Former EPA administrators told the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Congress could set specific guidelines into law that might better manage transparency and integrity standards at all scientific agencies throughout any administration.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) are jointly announcing the final two research and development (R&D) awards for the newly launched Secure and Resilient Mobile Network Infrastructure (SRMNI) project.
Managed by S&T’s Mobile Security and Emergency Communications R&D Program, the project addresses CISA’s top mobile-focused priorities: securing the information and communications technology (ICT) supply chain as well as critical mobile network infrastructure, including the newly launched fifth generation (5G) mobile network.
CISA Welcomes New Members to Leadership Team
WASHINGTON – The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) announced today that three new administration appointees have joined the agency in leadership roles. Nitin Natarajan has joined CISA as its Deputy Director, Eric Goldstein as Executive Assistant Director for Cybersecurity, and Dr. David Mussington as Executive Assistant Director for Infrastructure Security. Deputy Director Natarajan was most recently a Director at Avantus Federal in the Homeland Security and Federal Civilian markets. Executive Assistant Director Goldstein served on the administration’s Agency Review Team before joining CISA and brings a depth of cybersecurity experience from both the public and private sectors. Executive Assistant Director Mussington served most recently as Professor of the Practice – and Director of the Center for Public Policy and Private Enterprise - at the School of Public Policy, University of Maryland Coll
