Part of the crumbling Meadows Road Bridge collapsed in recent weeks, dashing conservationists hope to keep the stone arch span built in the 1850s.
In the past few weeks Lower Saucon Township officials became aware of the collapse on the closed bridge over Saucon Creek.
As of Monday, a large hole could be seen on one side of the bridge in the center of the four arches, a pile of stones in the creek below.

Northampton County’sCOVID-19 testing site on Emrick Boulevard will start testing anyone who wants a test on Monday.
Previously, the drive-through testing site at Coordinated Health, 3100 Emrick Blvd. in Bethlehem Township, only provided testing to individuals displaying coronavirus symptoms.
“The recent spike in COVID-19 infections in Northampton County is alarming,” county Executive Lamont McClure said in a news release. “We are expanding this testing to include asymptomatic people in the hope that we can keep them home while they are infectious and slow the spread of the virus.”

President Joe Biden had yet to put pen to paper to sign the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan when Easton Mayor Sal Panto Jr. asked residents to call up federal lawmakers to request more direct aid to the city.
“Put the pressure on them, we need this changed,” Panto said during Wednesday night’s meeting of Easton City Council. “This isn’t fair.”
