House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday endorsed President Donald Trump’s demand to increase coronavirus relief checks for the American people.
“Democrats are ready to bring this to the Floor this week by unanimous consent,” Pelosi wrote on Twitter. “Let’s do it!”

The president demanded in a video posted to Twitter Tuesday night that Congress increase the payments from $600 to $2,000.
Senior Senate Republican congratulates Joe Biden on election victory
US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has congratulated Joe Biden on winning the presidential election, a significant moment given many Senate Republicans have not recognised the Democrat s victory.
McConnell said on Tuesday that following the electors meeting on Monday, as of this morning, our country officially has a President-elect and a vice president-elect . The Electoral College has spoken, he said from the Senate floor in the US Capitol, adding: Today I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden.
