The establishment of The Graduate Center in 1961 by the New York State Legislature, itself, had few precedents. This was to be the first publicly supported doctoral program in New York City.
It was a bold move that grew out of the historic commitment to public higher education in New York City, the need to provide advanced education for the growing post-World War II baby boom population, and the mission that defines The Graduate Center graduate education for the public good.

Saturday (4/10) 11-1 & Sunday (4/11) 12-1:30 - RAIN OR SHINE!!
WG Baptist Food Pantry-3600 Welsh Road-Willow Grove PA 19090
This weekend in addition to collecting food for our food pantry at our food drives we will be collecting items for EVERY GOOD GIFT, a non-profit located in Glenside PA, that needs craft items and sewing items for the new satellite location that they hope to open later in 2021 in the Kensington area of Philadelphia.
Since the items that we are seeking to collect are more specialized for this collection, we have set up a Sign-Up Genius Page where you can review what is needed, sign up to provide it, and bring it to our collection drives this weekend.
