received ambassadors and chargés d affaires of ASEAN member states in Hanoi on
April 13, as they came to congratulate him on his election as the President of Vietnam.

The National Assembly (NA) last Monday elected Vietnamâs new prime minister and new state president. The NA passed a resolution appointing Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc as the state president, and another resolution on assigning Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Central Organisation Commission, to be the prime minister, both for the 2021-2025 tenure.
After the ballot, the new leaders took the oath of office, vowing to âbe completely faithful to the country, people, and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnamâ.

Unique ceramic streets in Lien Mac village

Residents of Lien Mac village in Hanoi’s Bac Tu Liem district have been busy collecting discarded materials such as ceramics, bottles, and dishes to decorate the village’s streets.
Starting in last November, villagers began using use fragments of old vases, dishes, and bowls that had been thrown away to create a ceramic wall along an alleyway. More than 20 mosaic walls have now been completed, helping to beautify the village.

Ceremony held for handover of duty to new Prime Minister
ABO/NDO – State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc handed over the duty of Prime Minister to new Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at a ceremony on April 8.
Phuc and PM Chinh also presented appointment decisions to the two new Deputy Prime Ministers Le Minh Khai and Le Van Thanh, along with 12 new ministers, sector chiefs and Government members.
Addressing the ceremony, President Phuc thanked the Politburo, the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, organs in the political system and the people for their assistance, cooperation, facilitation and support to the Government in the 2016-2021 tenure.
