The Gwen Frostic Studio, a destination for the art community and tourists alike, was recently placed on the National Register of Historic Places. “We are just so proud for Gwen and all of her hard work,” said Kim Forshee, who with her husband Greg now owns the studio. “We felt very honored. We wish she was here to see this.”

The parcel is a mix of farmland, woods and wetlands, and is bordered on the west by Dorman Branch and on the east by Arnell Creek. It contains 20 acres of tidal wetlands and 5 acres of non-tidal wetlands.

David Ige. The group claimed Ige did not grant Hinaleimoana Wong-Kalu another term because she spoke out publicly in January about alleged mismanagement at the State Historic Preservation Division. The council said they believe Wong-Kalu’s advocacy about this issue resulted in her removal from the Oahu Island Burial Council chair position, which she served for three terms.
