On June 20, 2021 at approximately 4:50 a.m., detectives from the Special Investigations Division located and arrested Ernesto Contreras, a 43-year-old resident of Long Beach.
Contreras was arrested in his vehicle in the 800 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue after Homicide detectives collected evidence of his involvement in the June 19, 2021 shooting death of the victim who is only being identified as a 34-year-old resident of Long Beach, pending notification of the next of kin.
Contreras was booked on one count of murder and is currently being held in the Long Beach City Jail on $2,000,000 bail.

The man accused of the killing was identified as 51-year-old Long Beach resident Eric Doore.
Authorities say that Doore and the victim were both inside their home when an argument broke out, which then led to the deadly stabbing. It was not immediately known what the argument was about, and police did not provide additional details on the circumstances surrounding the stabbing as they continue their investigation.
Doore was booked on one count of murder and remains in custody at the Long Beach City Jail on $2 million bail.
