COVID-19 vaccination appointments now open to Lakewood residents ages 65+

The County of Los Angeles is controlling the distribution of the vaccine in most cities in our county, including Lakewood. The City of Lakewood does not control any of the distribution or time slots for the vaccination. Starting Jan. 19, anyone age 65+ can now register for a COVID vaccination in Los Angeles County online or by phone. Vaccinations are free, and available to all, regardless of insurance coverage or immigration status. For those who have insurance, coverage information may be requested as part of the appointment scheduling process. Editorial: Recall is not a coup and certainly no joke

Print Can someone please get a copy of a dictionary any dictionary delivered to the California Democratic Party headquarters? Or at least email over a link to an online version? We fear that party leaders might not have access to one, based on their imprudent decision to dub a recall effort against Gov. Gavin Newsom the “California coup,” thus likening a perfectly democratic process enshrined in the state’s Constitution to the act of forcefully or even violently seizing government power. On Tuesday, the state’s Democratic Party establishment offered its first official response to the gubernatorial recall effort and it was . disappointing. This was an opportunity to offer a strong defense for a governor leading an enormously complex state through a very difficult time, with political unrest exacerbating an unprecedented health catastrophe, and to appeal to Californians to stop Newsom’s opponents from getting the 1.5 million signatures they need to trigger a special re

Enter email address You may occasionally receive promotional content from the Los Angeles Times. “This recall effort, which really ought to be called the California coup, is being led by right-wing conspiracy theorists, white nationalists, anti-vaxxers in groups who encourage violence on our democratic institutions,” said Rusty Hicks, chairman of the California Democratic Party. “Today we’re here to say enough is enough is enough.”

California Dems Characterize Recall Gavin Newsom Effort as California Coup

Tweet We often say about Democrats, “All they had to do was not be crazy.” Even though the effort to recall California Governor Gavin Newsom has gained traction over the last month, organizers are still lacking about 500,000 signatures before a mid-March deadline, and Newsom still (publicly) enjoys decent job approval ratings. Why would California Democratic Party officials suddenly call a press conference labeled “Defend Against the California Coup,” complete with its own hashtag? Veteran Politico California writer Jeremy White says it best: This press conference does not happen unless @GavinNewsom is seriously worried about the recall effort And it happened, all right.
