Bank of America buildings not available; RSU 71 to look at alternatives

Belfast Regional School Unit 71 announced May 16 that the Bank of America buildings the district was considering purchasing to consolidate some of its elementary schools are no longer available. The owner of the buildings, Stag IV Belfast LLC, is selling the them to another buyer, Board of Directors Chairman David Crabiel said.
The move means the district has to start considering other options for addressing issues with having several different schools open around the district, he said. But because the discussion about purchasing the Bank of America buildings was in such an early stage, it is not a huge setback to the district.
