ROBSTOWN, Texas â After almost two hours of discussion in an executive session with Nueces County Drainage District #2 Commissioners and an off-the-cuff dialogue between the county judge and residents in a separate room, it was decided that flood concerns tied to the Petronila-area will finally reach a decision on Monday, Jan. 25 at 6 p.m.
The tabling of that discussion came after one Petronila resident had again come forward with frustration upon hearing that commissioners might withdraw their application for a $550,000 grant from the Texas Water Development Board after Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales introduced a proposal that would include Nueces, Jim Wells, and Kleberg counties.

NUECES COUNTY â Nueces Countyâs Judge Barbara Canales is praising this last weekâs efforts to get state-allocated COVID-19 vaccines to the most vulnerable residents in the Coastal Bend.
The city of Corpus Christi announced that over 9,000 vaccinations were given to Coastal Bend residents in
Phase 1A and 1B. While the mega vaccination clinic at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds had a rocky start at the beginning of the week, Judge Canales praised the improvement of operations as the week progressed.
Nueces County Commissioners vote to demolish and rebuild Bob Hall Pier

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas County commissioners voted Friday to demolish and rebuild the pier and concession stand. The structure has been off-limits to the public after it was heavily damaged in Hurricane Hanna.
The outcome came today in a specially held commissioners court meeting in which the court heard from several people who believe a brand-new pier is the right choice.
Repair or rebuild were the options in front of county commissioners who ultimately decided on construction of a new Bob Hall Pier.
