A man who allegedly assaulted his brother Sunday is being charged with felony strangulation after he admitted using a chokehold, court documents stated.
Matthew C. Robinson, 35, who has no fixed address, was arraigned Monday by Magisterial District Judge Daniel DeAntonio on assault-related charges and released on $10,000 unsecured bail, according to court documents.
The Altoona Police Department responded to reports of a physical altercation about 11 p.m. Sunday near the 1200 block of 16th Avenue.
Robinson allegedly struck the victim in the back of the head multiple times and used a chokehold to subdue the victim despite the victim’s warnings that he couldn’t breathe, according to one witness, court documents stated.
