The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) Pembroke District is warning that while flooding is not expected, spring water levels continue to increase with the snow melt and rain and people need to be careful.
On April 1, the Ministry extended its previous Watershed Conditions Statement – ‘Water Safety’ stating it remains in effect in the district until at least Thursday, April 8.

In a statement, the MNRF said residents in Renfrew County should be aware that ice on area lakes is becoming unsafe and water levels and flows in rivers are increasing due to warmer temperatures, forecast precipitation and the remaining snow melting.
