In our community Greater Taunton events for week of May 16 2021

A Tribute to Veterans, sponsored by the Mayor’s Worthy Cause, is scheduled for Saturday, June 12. Morton Hospital, Mozzone Lumber and Quality Beverage are supporters of the Mayor’s Worthy Cause and were among the first to donate in support of the Tribute to Veterans. These donations, along with others from the Greater Taunton Allied Veterans Council and GAR Memorial Trust, as well as a grant from the Taunton Cultural Council, made it possible to host this free community event for Taunton residents. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The opening ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Vietnam War Memorial at Church Green. Additional activities will include the display of military vehicles downtown, an obstacle course event at noon behind City Hall, and patriotic art displays by local artists at Liberty & Union plaza.
