ETHIOPIAN Airline, which prides itself as a certified four-star airline for the quality of its airport and onboard products and staff service, could find itself in the eye of the storm following complaints by some of its passengers in Nigeria.
The aggrieved customers are spoiling for a showdown with the airline over the shoddy way they were allegedly treated by staff of the airline. One of them, Rev. Fr. Patrick Chudi Okafor, pointedly told Vanguard that he and other affected Nigerian flyers of the airline can no longer tolerate what he described as the “insensitive and inhuman treatment” they have received from staff of Ethiopian Airline in the last couple of years.

A major player is exiting the energy business in Southeast Alaska. Crowley Fuels is set to sell its Southeast Alaska business to Anchorage-based Petro Marine Services. The deal is expected to close in mid-February. But some fear the move could make life in the panhandle even less affordable.

Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni announced Wednesday that her Consumer Protection Unit along with the San Diego County District Attorney s office and the Stanislaus County District Attorney s office has entered into a final stipulated judgment with Minnesota-based Fastenal Company regarding allegations that it charged walk-in retail customers undisclosed shipping and handling fees.
Fastenal sells industrial and construction supplies at its 138 retail facilities in California. Many of these stores are open to the public for walk-in sales, including at its branch stores in Seaside, Salinas and Soledad.

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Customs seized “Agricultural Plant Waste” from 28 containers at a container yard in Wellampitiya Road, Orugodawatta.
According to a statement from Sri Lanka Customs, the cargo declared to Customs as “Whole Coriander Seeds” imported from Ukraine was revealed to contain eight consignments of “Agricultural Plant Waste,” following the initial investigation.
The consignment was exported to Sri Lanka from Agronika Trade LLC in Ukraine and initially, eight containers had arrived in Sri Lanka on 10th December, while another 20 containers arrived on 21st December.
