New Delhi: NITI Aayog, in partnership with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Centre for Social and Behaviour Change, Ashoka University, today launched Poshan Gyan, a national digital repository on health and nutrition.
The launch event was addressed by NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Dr Rajiv Kumar, CEO MrAmitabh Kant, Secretary (WCD) MrRam Mohan Mishra and Additional Secretary Dr Rakesh Sarwal.
While launching the website, Dr Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, NITIAayog, said the creation of Poshan Gyan was a landmark moment. “Real change can be brought about only throughchanging behaviours on the ground. High malnutrition persists despite India being a food-surplus nation, which points towards a clear need for behavioural change. With this context in mind, Poshan Gyan is an extremely important initiative, and can help make nutrition a Jan Andolan, as envisioned by our Hon’ble Prime Minister,” he said.

The Senate President, in a statement on Monday by his media aide, Ola Awoniyi, wished the Muslim Ummah a blissful Ramadan.
Lawan said, “I urge us to remember our dear country in our prayers as we seek to overcome the challenges we are facing as a nation.
“This’s in the realisation that Allah is the Almighty, kind and greater than all human problems.

Govt to implement mandatory gold hallmarking from June 1
The government on Tuesday said it is fully prepared to implement mandatory hallmarking of gold jewellery and artefacts from June 1, 2021. Gold hallmarking is a purity certification of the precious metal and is voluntary in nature at present.
The Centre, in November 2019, had announced that hallmarking of gold jewellery and artefacts would be made mandatory across the country from January 15, 2021. The government had given jewellers more than a year to shift to hallmarking and register themselves with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
But the deadline was extended for four months till June 1 after the jewellers sought more time to implement in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
