Quarter brick isolated DC-DC converter for datacom applications
Flex Power Modules has released a new device in its BMR491 series of high-density DC-DC converters with built-in digital interfaces. The new converter can produce 2450W peak power for periods of up to one second, with a constant output power rating of up to 1540W, claiming that this makes it the highest power density digital DC-DC isolated converter currently available.
The device functions over an input voltage range of 48V to 60V and provides a nominal 12V output, making it appropriate for data centre applications. Efficiency is 97.5% at 48Vin at half load, and the device can offer output current of up to 205A.
