HARTINGTON, Neb. (KTIV) - Hartington-Newcastle Public Schools are waiting for the chance for teachers to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Administrators from the district originally expected vaccinations to be administered to staff in late January or early February. According to the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department, the delays are due to issues caused by the weather affecting shipments, the restructuring of the vaccine process and other key factors. The district is looking forward to receiving the vaccines. I m just hopeful that we can get this done as soon as possible. I think the kids, the staff members, the community would all like to get back to normal and we re grateful to be here but a more normal school year next year would be something we re all looking forward to, said Superintendent AJ Johnson.
