Attorney General warns of COVID vaccine scams

Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson and Danette Smith, CEO of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, are warning Nebraskans to be on the lookout for fraudulent schemes about COVID-19 vaccines. “Even though the COVID-19 vaccines have only been available for a short time, fraud schemes are already popping up across the nation, seeking information such as credit card numbers or personal health information,”  Smith said. Attorney General Peterson has advised Nebraskans to watch out for schemes like: Advertisements and communications touting fake vaccines and therapies.  Only the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) can approve the vaccines.  Rely on information from the FDA concerning approved drugs and vaccines.
