A 450-home proposal in Partington and apartments in Stretford are to proceed after they received consent from Trafford Council.
Countryside, which completed a land deal with Peel L&P in 2018 for two parcels of land abutting the Manchester Ship Canal, secured full consent for 151 homes on a 10-acre site that formerly housed a caravan park, also obtaining reserved matters approval for the larger site, which is to house 298 houses on around 30 acres.
The breakdown of the reserved matters consent is for 55 two-bedroom, 196 three-bedroom and 47 four-bedroom dwellings.
Outline consent was granted in September 2019 for this site, with conditions attached including the introduction of a mini-roundabout at the junction to the site, open space commitments, and a payment of £384,000 to highways improvements.
Plans for 149 new flats in Old Trafford narrowly approved
Proposals are to demolish the multi-storey building at 66 Talbot Road and build two buildings, one six-storey and one 13 storeys in height, for the apartments

Primus Property Group has submitted fresh plans for a 178-home scheme on Worrall Street in Ordsall, previously earmarked for a scheme by Forshaw Land & Property.
The plans have been drawn up by Tim Groom Architects and comprise 168 apartments and 10 townhouses across two blocks of eight and seven storeys.
The apartments would be a mix of 85 one-bedroom properties, 76 two-bedroom units and seven three-bedroom flats. Nine of the townhouses would offer two bedrooms, while the remaining unit would have three.
Industrial buildings on the site, previously occupied by J and JM Worrall’s Dye Works, would be demolished under developer Primus’ proposals.
Plans for apartments at derelict Salford site scaled down with 64 fewer flats
The site was home to J and JM Worrall’s Dye Works, which moved to Ordsall in 1792, but turned into warehouses when the docks closed

New Cross is going to be amazing, some of the builds are top quality, like a quarter you would get in a European capital. A great extension to Ancoats which is fantastic imo. All the council need to do now is sort the pavements in the NQ out and this will be a fantastic part of town.

WOW. This is what contemporary Manchester development looks like. Developers who love multi-coloured plastic cladding panels should take note!

I’m a huge fan of the Goulden Street Project. New Cross is really going to blossom in the next couple of years.
