Year in review: 2020

With the town declaring a state of emergency in March, to homeschooling, social distancing and widespread cancellation of events, the community did come together on many fronts donating to various causes, making masks, feeding their neighbours and looking out for others.TP.jpg jpg, TP Article content As it is every January, when the community enters a new year, they have hopes and plans as to what the months ahead will hold. No one expected the one that was. While there was some difficult times, the residents did show instances of unbelievable charity and kindness towards their neighbours. As we close the chapter of this year, let us hope that we leave behind the worst of it and hold tight the best.

Gold Miners, Cochrane game postponed

Article content The NOJHL has announced that tonight’s contest between the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners and Cochrane Crunch at Tim Horton Events Centre has been postponed. The postponement comes about after it was learned that a player on one of the teams inadvertently came in close contact with someone who was displaying COVID-19 symptoms.
