The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, on Wednesday, expressed grave concern over the government’s inability to meet its obligations in each appropriation year, and the need to prune.
Hon Gbajabiamila who gave the charge while welcoming members to the 2021 legislative session, tasked members on the need to be more circumspect particularly on the bills seeking to establish new agencies, considering the exploding recurrent cost of governance.

Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SANs, on Thursday, described as illegal, the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to retain the retired Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, in office for another three months.
In separate interviews with Vanguard, the senior lawyers, maintained that President Buhari acted in breach of the Nigerian Police Act, 2020, as amended.
The SANs were unanimous in their opinion that Adamu, who was due for retirement on February 1 having spent 35 years in service, is no longer a valid police officer in the eyes of the law.
According to Afam Osigwe, SAN, who was a former Secretary General of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Adamu, is no longer a police officer capable of being appointed in acting or substantive capacity to head the Nigerian Police Force.
