Residents barricade NLNG office over rights

By Fri Jun 11 2021 Hundreds of Finima residents in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State barricaded the entrance gates of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) office complex on Bonny Island yesterday. The residents, who wielded several placards, said they were protesting the failure of the company in implementing host community rights. A protester, Mr Adagogo Lambeth Brown, a community leader in Bonny, said legacy issues that included resettling of people who lost their ancestral lands to the NLNG site in the early 90s during Gen Ibrahim Babangida’s regime were yet to be settled, and that the issues of resettlement were still hanging after many years the company took off.

Traditional rulers, group berate Sylva over lopsided FG appointments

Sylva Traditional rulers of oil host communities in Ekeremor Council of Bayelsa State have accused the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, of turning the state’s slots for federal appointments into his family business. This followed the quest for the next Chairman and Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in the soon to be constituted board and management. NLNG to supply 1 1m tonnes of gas to domestic market

Abuja, June 10, 2021 The Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas limited (NLNG) says it has concluded the Execution of Sales and purchase Agreements (SPAs) to supply 1.1 million tonnes per annum to boost domestic gas supply in the country.
