Quentin Hillsman says Tiana Mangakahia’s finalist nod for Nancy Lieberman Award is ‘well deserved’

Syracuse, N.Y. Syracuse senior guard Tiana Mangakahia is one of five finalists selected for the 2021 Nancy Lieberman Award, announced Monday by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
It’s the second time in her career that she’s been named a finalist for the award, given to the nation’s best point guard in women’s college basketball.
FOR STARTERS
• 1 – Oregon seniors Chris Duarte, LJ Figueroa and Eugene Omoruyi combined for 58 points with 20 rebounds in Saturday s win at Cal. Including the Ducks fourth senior, Amauri Hardy, that class is averaging just under 50 points per game (49.9).
• 2 – Nine of the last 11 games between the Ducks and Wildcats have been decided by seven points or less and four of those games have gone to overtime. Oregon holds a 9-2 series edge in the last 11 meetings.
• 3 – Under coach Dana Altman, Oregon has the best record in the conference during the second half of Pac-12 play. Over the last 11 seasons, the Ducks have won more than 70 percent of their games (68-28) on the back half of the schedule.
Kyrie Irving wants Kobe Bryant to be new NBA logo

NBA star Kyrie Irving has forcefully resuscitated the topic of finally changing the NBA logo to a silhouette of the late great Kobe Bryant.
Irving, the New Jersey Nets basketball savant point guard who is famously outspoken, posted his thoughts for his 14 million Instagram followers.
Down in the comments section, as to drive his point home with more force, Irving wrote this:
“To: All the people who say it is not about color.
“BLACK” or “BLACK KINGS”
And that’s what oppressors refused to call MY ancestors.
