Tim Duncan will officially become a Hall-of-Famer on Saturday. He is part of a stacked class that includes Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett and Tamika Catchings.

Tim Duncan played in playoff games with high stakes and intensity during his Hall of Fame career with the San Antonio Spurs, but he says his battles with Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers in the 2000s were some of the most intense.
Duncan talked about those matchups during his Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame press conference on Friday. Duncan will be inducted into the Hall of Fame by former teammate and Hall of Famer David Robinson on Saturday.

The late Kobe Bryant was finally inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday, as the nine-member Class of 2020 was enshrined on an emotional night in Uncasville, Conn.
Also in the star-studded class were Patrick Baumann, Tamika Catchings,Tim Duncan,Kevin Garnett,Kim Mulkey, Barbara Stevens, Eddie Sutton and Rudy Tomjanovich, who were selected for induction in April 2020. The enshrinement ceremony was delayed due to the pandemic and moved from Springfield, Mass., to Mohegan Sun Arena for more space.

Breen the longtime voice of the New York Knicks as well as the NBA on ESPN and ABC was one of the honorees Friday night by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, one of the Curt Gowdy Media Award winners that pay tribute to the game’s best storytellers in various mediums.
“That team aspect has been the story of my life,” Breen said. “From growing up as one of six boys in Yonkers, New York to now, I’ve had the greatest teammates a man could ever hope for every step of the way.”
