GREATER NOIDA: A 24-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by his girlfriend’s 19-year-old brother, police said on Wednesday. The act was caught on CCTV camera and the footage went viral, where the accused can be seen stabbing Deepak at least 20 times.
The accused waited for Deepak outside a restaurant on GT Road in Badalpur area, ran towards him when the latter reached the spot and stabbed him.
Deepak a private company executive tried to run away from the spot, but Vipin continued to stab him in the neck, chest and left shoulder till the latter fell on the ground.
NOIDA: The Uttar Pradesh ATS and Noida police on Tuesday busted an unauthorised telephone exchange that was being run under the garb of a call centre in Phase 3.
Police said the operators had been using a private server to convert internet calls from abroad into phone calls, bypassing channels of the department of telecommunications (DoT) and causing losses worth lakhs of rupees to the Centre. Police are also trying to find out if the calls posed a threat to national security.
Following a tip-off about an illegal telephone exchange, the police had informed the DoT, which confirmed that illegal call traffic had been detected in the area. During the raid, police found seven persons, including five women, working at the call centre, which sold groceries online to residents of Jammu and Kashmir. The online store, police said, was being run by a company called Beststar BK Enterprise Private Limited.

GREATER NOIDA: A 32-year-old man who complained against a local BJP functionary for illegally possessing a piece of land belonging to the gram samaj, was allegedly thrashed by some goons led by the main accused in Gadhi Shahdara village of Sector 142 on Thursday.
Interestingly, the police reportedly arrested the complainant, Sandeep Bhati.
Sandeep’s lawyer said in the afternoon he had called an accountant for the measurement of the disputed land. Sandeep had gone to meet him on the site when some goons led by Naveen Bhati, who identifies himself as BJP’s mandal secretary of Greater Noida, gathered at the spot and started abusing and thrashing him.

NOIDA: The body of a woman believed to be in her mid-30s was found on a green belt near Millennium School in Ecotech III late on Sunday. Police have started a murder probe based on the autopsy report, though the woman is yet to be identified.
Police said the woman was possibly hit on the neck with a blunt object. The nature of the injury also doesn’t rule out the possibility of the attacker jamming an elbow into her neck. There were red marks on the face and neck and her tongue was pushed out of the mouth slightly when the body was found, police said.
