Among those approached for funding include three Canadian pension funds Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ), Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) and the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP), and Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global, one source said. Moneycontrol could not independently verify the report. “The thought process for now is that this would not be a direct equity deal, but debt which is convertible into equity,” the source added.

Norges Bank Investment Management paid 27.1 million pounds for its 50 percent ownership interest. The property is unencumbered by debt, and no financing was involved in the transaction. The seller of the property is Prologis. Prologis will own the remaining 50 percent interest and will perform the asset management on the property on behalf of the joint venture. The property has a leasable area of 40,423 square meters.

Some of the largest institutional shareholders in Unilever include BlackRock, Gardner Russo & Gardner LLC, Wellington Management Company LLP, and Arrowstreet Capital LP. Some of the fund managers manage the pensions of U.S. police officers and firefighters.
