Its 93kWh battery should be good for about 380km of range, with early versions expected to scamper from rest to highway velocities in just 4.1 seconds.
Price starts at $129,900 in Canada for the e-tron GT, while the RS e-tron GT with its 590hp and 612 lb-ft will command $179,900. The latter will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in an estimated 3.3 seconds.

A GoFundMe fundraising campaign has been launched for a young girl that was severely injured last week in Lunenburg.
The two year-old had to be airlifted to a Halifax hospital with serious injuries on Friday.
The situation led to the lockdown of Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg and the South Shore Regional in Bridgewater.
RCMP say they are investigating the incident and their major crime unit has taken the lead in the case.
No arrests have been made at this stage.

The RCMP’s major crime unit is leading the investigation in relation to an incident which led to the lockdown of two hospitals in Lunenburg county.
Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg and the South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater were both under lockdown orders last Friday.
RCMP confirm they are investigating an aggravated assault which prompted the lockdowns.
Police say a two-year-old girl had sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted from Bridgewater to the IWK hospital in Halifax.
The child required emergency treatment for her injuries at the IWK ICU.
RCMP spokesperson Chris Marshall says there was no threat to the public as those involved knew each other.
