(Scott Anderson/Patch) ELMONT, NY Nassau County will be holding a community vaccination clinic in Elmont this weekend as part of its effort to help hard-hit communities get through the pandemic. The vaccination clinic in Elmont will be the second community-specific vaccination effort undertaken by the county. It had previously administered shots in Hempstead, which is the community hit hardest by the pandemic. We have seen that COVID-19 has had a disproportionate impact on communities of color, said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran. We ve been working closely with educators, faith leaders and trusted community messengers to build confidence in the safety of this vaccine and to increase access in communities like Elmont.
