World-renowned SF Bay Area architect Art Gensler dies at 85 Bay City News Service FacebookTwitterEmail By Keith Burbank MILL VALLEY (BCN) Bay Area and world-renowned architect Art Gensler, whose firm designed the Chase Center and the Moscone Convention Center West, among other landmarks in San Francisco, died Monday, his firm announced. He was 85. Gensler died peacefully at his home in Mill Valley. I like doing things that people use, Gensler said in a video in memory of his life and the firm Gensler, which survives him. The round was led by Leaps by Bayer with participation from Paladin Capital Group, Vertical Venture Partners, Ahren Innovation Capital, Ataraxia Capital Partners, Shanda Grab Ventures, Alafi Capital, and Taisho Pharmaceutical. Seed stage investors include Human Longevity and Performance Impact Venture Fund, Longevity Incubator Fund, Summer Venture Capital, Carlyle Global Advisors, M4 Capital GmbH, and Better Food Ventures. Leaps by Bayer’s Naveen Krishnan, MD, MPhil, and Paladin Group’s Paul Conley, PhD, will join Edifice’s Board of Directors, alongside Santosh Padki, a San Francisco-based consumer products veteran, and David Furman, PhD, Edifice Founder, Leader of the Stanford Project, and Associate Professor of Applied Artificial Intelligence in Systems and Computational Immunology of Aging at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging.
