Bangladesh Group Theater Federation (BGTF) has decided not to perform stage plays during the lockdown. The Federation will not be organising stage shows anywhere in the country including Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Bangladesh Mohila Samity, informs Kamal Bayezid, Secretary General of BGTF to the Daily Star. Safety should be our prime concern now and keeping this in mind, we have decided to stop the shows at this time. We are very glad that everyone in our federation has agreed with us and welcomed our decision, adds Kamal Bayezid.
Ramendu Majumdar, noted actor, playwright, and president of Bangladesh Centre of International Theatre Institute (ITI) supported this decision wholeheartedly.
