Top Story April 5, 2021 SWABI: A judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court, his wife, daughter-in-law and her son were martyred when unidentified gunmen fired indiscriminately at them at the Ambar Interchange in Swabi district on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway on Sunday. Sources said that the judge, Aftab Khan Afridi, was on his way back to Islamabad from Swat where he was serving for the last two months when the incident happened. When his vehicle reached the Ambar Interchange on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway, some unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on the judge and his family in the jurisdiction of the Chota Lahor City Police Station

Bacha Khan Hospital nurses protest lack of accommodation - Newspaper

SWABI: The nurses of the Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor, on Monday staged a protest demonstration demanding accommodation in the newly-built hostel. They argued that the hostel was built for them, but now the management of the Gajju Khan Medical College, Swabi, had decided to accommodate the first year MBBS students there. Deputy commissioner Shahid Mehmood met with the leaders of the protesting nurses to end the protest, but they refused and vowed to continue with the agitation till their demand was met. On the other hand, Dr Fasseh-uz-Zaman, principal of the Ghaju Khan Medical College and chief executive of the hospital, said the new batch of the MBBS students would be accommodated in the hostel as per the requirement of the Pakistan Medical Council.
