Andy Beshear is set to give his Friday coronavirus (COVID-19) update at 4 p.m. (CST) (Source: WFIE) By 14 News Staff | December 16, 2020 at 10:26 AM CST - Updated December 16 at 4:32 PM KENTUCKY (WFIE) - Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reports 2,898 new COVID-19 cases and 23 new deaths. The total number of deaths in the Commonwealth is 2,262. The Green River District Health Department reported two more COVID-19 related deaths and 190 additional cases Wednesday. Of those new cases, 128 are in Daviess County, 24 are in Henderson County, 13 are in Webster County, 10 are in Ohio County, eight are in Union County, five are in McLean County, and there two new cases in Hancock County.

(WFIE) - Officials with the Daviess County Detention Center made an announcement on Facebook Tuesday, saying that 44 inmates and four staff members have tested positive for COVID-19. They say they are still waiting for the results of six other inmates. According to the statement, the inmates that have tested positive are showing mild to moderate symptoms, or are symptomatic. The Facebook post goes on to say those positive inmates are being treated and monitored by the detention center’s medical provider.

COVID-related death of Webster County resident reported

HENDERSON, Ky. The COVID-related death of a Webster County resident was reported Wednesday by the Green River District Health Department A previously-reported death of a Union County resident was determined to not be COVID-related, according to the GRDHD. The GRDHD reported 24 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Henderson County on Wednesday with 13 new cases in Webster County and eight in Union County. There were 190 new cases reported the seven-county district on Wednesday with another COVID-related death reported in Daviess County. Daviess County reported 128 new cases. Ohio County had 10, McLean County five and Hancock County two, The incidence rate, which measures the average daily cases per 100k population over the past seven days, rose to 51.2 in Henderson County as of Tuesday afternoon, which held it in the red or critical level. Webster County and Union County also remained in the red  with incidence rates of 34.2 and 55.6, respectively.
