The coronavirus infection rate in major cities of Punjab such as Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Multan has fallen below 8%, Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid said. In a media briefing on Sunday, she said that the province has increased the number of tests conducted every day. In the last 24 hours, 901 people tested positive for the virus, while 29 lost their lives to the deadly virus.

The Punjab government has allotted Rs1.5 billion for the purchase of over a million coronavirus vaccines, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar announced.
In a meeting on Wednesday, he met officials of the health department and reviewed the virus situation in the province.
The minister decided to increase vaccination at centres in Punjab and discussed increasing the number of centres as well. Residents can register themselves for vaccination by messaging their CNIC numbers at 1166.

Businesses violating coronavirus SOPs in Lahore will be sealed till April 11, Lahore Commissioner (retd) Captain Muhammad Usman said.
He announced that the government will punish people, especially shopkeepers, hotels, and restaurants if they don t follow the government s precautionary measures.
The shops and businesses sealed over violations will not even be allowed to open after the lockdown ends, Commissioner Usman said, directly all deputy commissioners to hand stricter punishments to violators. By not being careful, these people are putting the lives of others at risk.
