Classes one to eight for all public and private schools in Punjab will remain closed till Eidul Fitr, Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas announced on Twitter Tuesday.
The provincial education minister s announcement came right after Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood
addressed a press conference after holding an important meeting at the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) attended by all the education and health ministers to decide further on closure or reopening of schools amid the worsening coronavirus situation in the country.

Punjab s education minister tests COVID-19 positive

LAHORE: Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas on Monday said that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and asked those who attended meeting with him should also get themselves tested.
The provincial education minister made the announcement on Twitter and prayed that the Almighty protect all of us.
“I have tested positive for COVID 19. I would like the people that have come in contact with me in the past few days during meetings to get tested. May Allah protect all of you,” he said.
1,048 new COVID-19 cases
26 more people died of COVID-19 with 1,048 new cases reported across the country over the last twenty-four hours, data from the National Command and Operations Centre showed Monday.

Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas on Friday said that he aims to bring the children who have dropped out, back to school.
The education minister met officials from the education department to discuss the School Enrolment Drive initiative. Met with CEOs and DEOs from 18 Districts regarding the School Enrolment Drive. All the details have been shared down to Markaz level. We will bring our children back to school InshAllah, he said.

LAHORE: The Punjab Education Department will be introducing innovative ways to train teachers and teach students the English language.
Taking to Twitter, Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas said on Friday after meeting a British Council team regarding teacher training at the Qauid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development Punjab (QAED). We are introducing innovative ways to teach English Language to our Students and train teachers, he wrote. Once all is decided, will make the announcement.
