An Oklahoma University sophomore is fundraising for a nonprofit organization that works to match patients fighting cancer with donors.
Every three minutes, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer. In 2018, Natalie Brockâs father became a part of that statistic when he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkinâs Lymphoma.
Be The Match helped her father find a stem cell donor for his transplant, and he is now in remission. Now Brock looks to give back to the organization that saved her fatherâs life.
The commencement is scheduled for May 15 in Panther Stadium at 8:30 a.m.
PVAMU also announced an additional in-person celebration for 2020 graduates, who had virtual ceremonies because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremony is set for May 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the stadium.
The university will require masks and social distancing at both outdoor events.

The University of Wyoming has changed course and will conduct in-person commencement ceremonies in May. As many as four shortened, in-person ceremonies are being planned for Friday and Saturday, May 14-15, in the Arena-Auditorium.
