Greggs issues urgent recall of vegetable bakes over fears they contain glass Laura Sharman
Greggs is recalling bundles of its popular vegetable bake products over fears they may contain pieces of green glass.
Naturally the frozen pastry snacks, sold exclusively in Iceland stores, were deemed unsafe to eat.
The recall applies to 310g two-pack vegetable bakes sold in Iceland with 2021 best before dates including August 15, August 28, September 11, September 12 and September 26.
Greggs explained that the recall only affects some batches of the veg product sold in Iceland, at £2.
A Greggs spokesperson said: “The safety of our food is of paramount importance and we take all issues regarding the production of our food extremely seriously.
“I just don’t get why,” Lewis added. “Why are they not doing it? There is an epidemic of scams in the UK. It’s been exploding for the past three or four years, and it’s been exacerbated due to the pandemic.” Royal Mail has listed different scams circulating, including the outstanding postage fee one.
