(MANILA BULLETIN) The filing of criminal charges, which included those against the customs brokers involved in the importations, was facilitated by the Bureau’s Action Team Against Smugglers (BATAS). The actual filing took place at the Department of Justice (DOJ) last April 8. A criminal case was filed against Jobadec International Trading for the alleged importation of various intellectual property-infringing and counterfeit merchandise last November 1, 2020, at the Manila International Container Port (MICP). The total value of the said goods amounted to P729,730.14. Another criminal case was filed against CWON-Pampanga Motors Trading Inc., this time for the alleged misdeclaration of a 40-footer container of various general merchandise with a total value of P2,756,271.65. The alleged violation was committed on November 26, 2020, at MICP.
